New mobile AMD Duron processor is highest performance PC processor for mainstream notebook computing.
SUNNYVALE, CA-DECEMBER 17,
2001-AMD today demonstrates its performance
leadership for mainstream notebook PC computing with the introduction of the
1GHz mobile AMD Duron(tm) processor. Featuring AMD PowerNow!(tm) technology,
AMD's leading dynamic power management tool, the mobile AMD Duron processor can
significantly extend battery life without compromising performance.
Compaq Computer Corporation is immediately offering its Compaq 700 series
notebooks powered by the 1GHz mobile AMD Duron processor.

Availability
Compaq will feature AMD mobile processors in its Compaq Presario 700 notebook
series. The Presario 700 can be ordered immediately from the Compaq Web site at

retail availability expected in early 2002. "By combining the sleek design
of the new Presario 700 series with the leading-edge power of the new mobile AMD
Duron processor, Compaq continues its commitment to deliver the performance,

Compaq Presario 700 notebooks based on the 1GHz mobile AMD Duron processor are
immediately available for purchase on HSN through Dec. 22.
