  1. March 23, 2010

After reading the article on CNN today I called the above number to purchase this book. The number listed above is the Chamber of Commerce. The Elberton Granite Association number is 706-283-2551. Paperback copies of Common Sense Renewed are currently available for $15 and leather-bound hardback copies cost $25. I was told to send a check made out to Joe Fendley to the Association at the address above to the attention of Frankie Dove. Hope that helps others find a copy!

  2. I just got a leather-bound copy 96 of 100 in the mail of “Common Sense Renewed”. I think there are only 4 leather-bound copies with R.C. Christian’s signature inside left. There were only a limited number of 200 copies ever made out to the public back in 1986, 100 paper back and 100 leather-bound with his signature. It’s amazing that they still have any for sale after all this time. I do believe that if there really is a secret cabal planning this then their chances of succeeding are very small. If the existence of these books became mainstream knowledge and the contents turned out to be real then I think they would be worth a lot of money since there are so few of them. I don’t think I would want to sell mine though….

I read your long and very revealing article on the Georgia Guidestones. I don’t think they have anything to do with satan but are part of an ancient form of Druid sun worship much older than the new age movement. They both share many similarities though. The core points of druidic religious beliefs reported in Roman sources is their belief in reincarnation, and reverence for the natural world.

The reason I think this is because R.C. Christian was a big fan of Thomas Paine’s books. He named “Common Sense Renewed” after Thomas Paine’s book “Common Sense” and made several references about the “The Age of Reason”. I think him referring to “The Age of Reason” is a big clue to the history of the people behind the Georgia Guidestones. There is a third part of “The Age of Reason” not known to many people that was left out of the final version, probably because it was so controversial. There is no doubt that it is linked to the Georgia Guidestones.

Thomas Paine I might add was a Freemason. Here are some quotes from the third part of “The Age of Reason”.

“Masonry (as I shall show from the customs, ceremonies, hieroglyphics, and chronology of Masonry) is derived and is the remains of the religion of the ancient Druids; who, like the Magi of Persia and the Priests of Heliopolis in Egypt, were Priests of the Sun.”

“The christian religion and Masonry have one and the same common origin: both are derived from the worship of the Sun. The difference between their origin is, that the christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man whom they call Christ, in the place of the Sun”

“In Masonry many of the ceremonies of the Druids are preserved in their original state, at least without any parody. With them the Sun is still the Sun; and his image, in the form of the sun is the great emblematical ornament of Masonic Lodges and Masonic dresses.”

“Masonry is the remains of the religion of the Druids”

“The emblematical meaning of the Sun is well known to the enlightened and inquisitive Free-Mason; and as the real Sun is situated in the center of the universe, so the emblematical Sun is the center of real Masonry.”

“The Lodges of the Masons, if built for the purpose, are constructed in a manner to correspond with the apparent motion of the Sun. They are situated East and West.”

“The high festival of the Masons is on the day they call St. John’s day.”

“The case is, that the day called St. John’s day, is the 24th of June, and is what is called Midsummer-day. The sun is then arrived at the summer solstice.”

“the 24th of June is always taken for Midsummer-day; and it is in honor of the sun, which has then arrived at his greatest height in our hemisphere, and not any thing with respect to St. John, that this annual festival of the Masons, taken from the Druids, is celebrated on Midsummer-day.”

“The religion of the Druids, as before said, was the same as the religion of the ancient Egyptians. The priests of Egypt were the professors and teachers of science, and were styled priests of Heliopolis, that is, of the City of the Sun.”

“The natural source of secrecy is fear. When any new religion over-runs a former religion, the professors of the new become the persecutors of the old.”

“the christian religion over-ran the religion of the Druids in Italy, ancient Gaul, Britain, and Ireland, the Druids became the subject of persecution. This would naturally and necessarily oblige such of them as remained attached to their original religion to meet in secret, and under the strongest injunctions of secrecy. Their safety depended upon it. A false brother might expose the lives of many of them to destruction; and from the remains of the religion of the Druids, thus preserved, arose the institution which, to avoid the name of Druid, took that of Mason, and practiced under this new name the rites and ceremonies of Druids.”

Here is a link to the whole part which is an official freemason website.

Here is another link to Robert Longfield’s theory of the origin of Freemasonry. I find it very revealing.

This seems to be a very discreet way of them revealing their origin to people.

Thanks for your hard work in your own research.

  3. August 2010 update: I called Elberton Granite Association (706-283-2551) on August 4 and they still had a couple of copies of the hardback left. All the ordering information noted above is still the same [Make the check payable to Joe Fendley, Jr. and mail it to the Elberton Granite Association address specified above]. I mailed my check for $25 for the hardback, and received it August 11. My particular hardback is #65 out of 100 and signed by Robert Christian (they obviously didn’t mail them out in order based on the comment from the individual above who said they received #96 out of 100).

    • Again, it is very important to recognize that the Elberton Granite Association and the Elberton Chamber of Commerce ran out of all copies of Common Sense Renewed several months ago. However, they are now selling copies owned by Joe Fendley’s son, Joe Fendley Jr., so Elberton is taking care of Joe’s son, which is a good indication of the positive character of Elberton. Elberton is a good town run by people with good intentions.

  4. Does anyone have a picture of the signature of “R.C Christian” they can show me? I have a pretty bug damn hunch and want to see the handwriting to compare.

    • Wyatt Martin had an IBM typewriter case full of correspondence from R.C. Christian, who was apparently from Iowa and was a doctor or dentist. However, Mr. Martin burned the contents of the typewriter case recently and dumped the ashes into a lake.

Allegedly, Coggins Industries in Elberton, Georgia, has a collection of Georgia Guidestones materials including correspondence from R.C. Christian. The official story of the Georgia Guidestones is wrong in that “R.C. Christian” had contact with many people in the Elbert County area and actively oversaw the monument’s construction.

Sadly, Mr. Burton Frank Coggins Jr. died March 4 of this year, but his company lives on.

    • Here’s a pic of the signature from the copy I purchased in 2010. A friend just called the Elberton Granite Assoc and they said they no longer have any copies left (and haven’t for over a year).

Let’s see if I can get this code to work correctly…..

      • Jim,

If you want, you can send the image to me and I will post it for you. My email address is (edit accordingly):
